CHAPTER sixty three : The Price of Revenge

The roads of Germany were unusually quiet that morning.

Friedrich Casanova sat behind the wheel of his black car, heading toward the private estate of Wilhelm Falkenberg.

His fingers tapped slowly against the steering wheel.

His thoughts, however, were elsewhere.

Emilia Falkenberg.

Arshia.

The same woman.

The same headache.

The same irritating doctor.

A bitter laugh escaped him.

"When she was Arshia, I never wanted to marry her."

He shook his head.

"She's annoying."

"Stubborn."

"Always arguing."

"Always talking."

His grip tightened.

"And now she's Emilia Falkenberg."

The daughter of Wilhelm Falkenberg.

One of the most powerful men in Europe.

One of the most dangerous men Friedrich had ever worked with.

Friedrich stared at the road ahead.

"I don't need a wife."

"I need security."

His voice was cold.

"If Wilhelm ever betrays me..."

"If he ever decides to turn against me..."

"Then having his daughter as my wife becomes my insurance."

The car continued forward.

Because Friedrich knew something nobody else knew.

Years ago...

The attack on Wilhelm Falkenberg's family had not been random.

It had been planned.

Executed.

Organized.

And the man behind it had been someone Wilhelm once called brother.

His best friend.

Hendrich Casanova.

Karl and Aaron's father.

Years ago, Wilhelm discovered information that could have destroyed the Casanova empire.

Before he could expose it...

His family was attacked.

His wife almost died.

His daughter was nearly kidnapped.

So Wilhelm sent Emilia away.

India.

A different name.

A different life.

Arshia.

Meanwhile Wilhelm and his wife fled Germany entirely.

They disappeared into Italy.

Waiting.

Planning.

Preparing.

And now...

After years of silence...

Wilhelm Falkenberg had returned.

Not for business.

Not for friendship.

Not for peace.

He had come back for revenge.

And Friedrich was standing directly in the middle of it.

India Flight

Meanwhile...

Aaron and Divyanka were sitting together inside their airplane.

Divyanka was looking outside the window excitedly.

"We're actually going."

Aaron smiled.

"We are."

"I haven't been home for so long."

"You talk about Chandigarh every week."

Divyanka laughed.

"Because I miss it."

Aaron looked at her.

"I know."

Divyanka turned toward him.

"Nervous?"

"A little."

She nearly choked.

"You? Aaron Casanova?"

"Yes."

"Impossible."

Aaron sighed dramatically.

"I'm about to meet the parents of the woman I want to marry."

Divyanka immediately turned red.

"Aaron!"

"What?"

"You say things like that so casually."

He smiled.

"Because they're true."

Divyanka looked away.

Aaron gently grabbed her hand.

"Relax."

"My family likes you."

"My staff likes you."

"My patients like you."

"I'm sure your family will survive liking me too."

Divyanka laughed.

"You are impossible."

"And yet you're dating me."

The smile on her face answered everything.

Hours later...

The airplane landed in India.

The moment Divyanka stepped outside the airport, she closed her eyes.

The warm air.

The familiar sounds.

The smell of home.

She smiled.

"I'm back."

Aaron watched her quietly.

For the first time...

He understood what home meant to her.

And somehow...

Seeing her happy made him happier than any victory ever had.

Germany

Karl's Car

Kavira sat with her arms crossed.

Still annoyed.

Still angry.

Still stubborn.

Karl glanced at her.

"What now?"

"My apartment."

"What about it?"

"My stuff is there."

Karl nodded.

"Okay."

Kavira blinked.

"Okay?"

"Yes."

"I thought you'd force me to the mansion."

Karl shrugged.

"We'll stop by your apartment first."

Silence.

Kavira narrowed her eyes.

"Why are you being normal?"

Karl almost laughed.

"That's offensive."

"It should be."

Five minutes later...

They arrived.

Kavira stepped out.

Karl followed.

Immediately.

"Why are you following me?"

"It's dangerous."

"It's literally my apartment."

Karl pointed at the street.

"People exist."

"Congratulations."

"They annoy me."

Kavira rolled her eyes.

"You annoy me."

Karl smiled.

"You still married me."

Kavira froze.

"Don't start."

"You started."

"You burned the divorce papers."

"You signed them."

"You deserved it."

"You loved me."

"You're impossible."

"I know."

Inside the apartment...

Kavira began packing boxes.

Books.

Documents.

Childhood journals.

Paper stars.

Painted bottles.

Memories.

Karl silently watched.

Then he picked up one of the old paper stars.

"You made these?"

"Yes."

"When I was younger."

Karl looked at the small star.

Something about it felt heartbreakingly innocent.

A girl who had spent her childhood creating little stars...

had somehow ended up married to a mafia king.

Life truly was strange.

Falkenberg Estate

Meanwhile...

Friedrich finally arrived.

Wilhelm Falkenberg was already waiting.

The older man sat calmly beside the fireplace.

A glass of whiskey rested in his hand.

"Friedrich."

"Wilhelm."

Neither smiled.

Neither trusted the other.

They sat opposite each other.

Wilhelm spoke first.

"You know why Emilia was sent away."

Friedrich nodded.

"Hendrich Casanova."

Wilhelm's eyes darkened.

The room instantly became colder.

"Hendrich took everything from me."

"My home."

"My peace."

"My family."

"And now..."

He slowly stood.

"I'm going to take everything from him."

For the first time...

Even Friedrich felt uneasy.

Because revenge wasn't Wilhelm's goal anymore.

It had become his identity.

And somewhere in Germany...

Karl Casanova had no idea that a war started by his father years ago...

was finally coming back to his doorstep.

And this time...

Nobody would leave untouched.
