The morning after the Falkenberg dinner was surprisingly quiet.
Friedrich sat in his car, driving away from the Falkenberg Mansion.
Emilia Falkenberg.
Arshia.
The doctor he had known for months.
The woman who had annoyed him, argued with him, challenged him...
was the same woman he was supposed to marry.
For the first time in years, Friedrich Casanova felt genuinely shocked.
He leaned back in his seat and muttered,
"Emilia Falkenberg..."
A small smile appeared on his face.
"Interesting."
Meanwhile, inside the mansion, Emilia was practically dancing around her room.
Her mother laughed.
"You look very happy."
"I AM happy!"
Emilia threw herself onto the bed.
"Dad literally gifted me the man I love."
Her mother shook her head.
"Let's hope Friedrich is smart enough not to ruin it."
Germany
Kavira's Apartment
Kavira stood in front of the mirror.
Black jeans.
White top.
Black blazer.
Simple.
Professional.
Comfortable.
Exactly how she liked it.
She grabbed her bag and headed for work.
Meanwhile...
At Bethley Group Headquarters.
Victor was already sitting in his office.
The moment Kavira entered, he smirked.
"Good morning, darling."
Kavira dropped a file onto his desk.
"Say that again and I'll resign."
Victor laughed.
"Good morning, Ms. Lawyer."
"Much better."
An hour later.
The office doors suddenly opened.
Everyone turned around.
The entire floor became silent.
Because Karl Casanova had entered.
Employees immediately stepped aside.
Victor looked up.
"Oh."
"You."
Karl walked directly toward the office.
Cold.
Calm.
Dangerous.
The door opened.
Kavira looked up.
Her expression instantly changed.
"What are you doing here?"
Karl ignored her question.
"Come with me."
"No."
"Kavira."
"I'm working."
Karl crossed his arms.
"No."
Victor nearly laughed.
"No?"
Kavira looked between both men.
"Am I a human being or a football?"
Victor stood up.
Karl's eyes narrowed.
Victor casually walked beside Kavira and placed an arm around her shoulders.
"Karl."
"She's working."
Karl looked at Victor's hand.
Then at Victor.
Then back at the hand.
The room temperature somehow dropped.
"Karl..."
Kavira warned.
Victor smirked.
"She isn't leaving."
Karl stepped closer.
"Remove your hand."
"No."
"Victor."
"No."
Victor's smile widened.
"She works for me."
Karl's jaw tightened.
Victor deliberately placed a hand on Kavira's waist.
"She leaves when I say she leaves."
The room went silent.
Kavira immediately removed Victor's hand.
"Both of you stop it."
Victor raised his hands.
"I'm innocent."
Karl looked ready to commit murder.
Meanwhile
Aaron's Mansion
Divyanka sat on the floor surrounded by suitcases.
Aaron watched her with amusement.
"Babydoll."
"No."
"What?"
"You folded those shirts wrong."
Aaron blinked.
"There is a wrong way to fold shirts?"
"There is now."
Aaron laughed.
Divyanka threw a pillow at him.
"We are meeting my family."
"I know."
"And you're laughing."
"I always laugh."
Divyanka sighed dramatically.
"My mother is going to ask a thousand questions."
"I'll answer them."
"My aunties are worse."
"I'll survive."
"My cousins are crazy."
Aaron nodded.
"So am I."
Divyanka couldn't help laughing.
Aaron sat beside her.
"Nervous?"
"A little."
He took her hand.
"It's okay."
"What if they don't like you?"
Aaron smiled.
"Impossible."
Divyanka rolled her eyes.
"You're so full of yourself."
Aaron leaned closer.
"I'm handsome."
"Aaron."
"I'm rich."
"Aaron."
"I'm a doctor."
"Aaron!"
"And I love you."
Divyanka immediately turned red.
Aaron grinned.
"See? I win."
Back At Bethley Group
The argument had become worse.
"Karl, leave."
"No."
"Karl!"
"No."
Victor looked entertained.
"I think she wants you to leave."
Karl completely ignored him.
"Kavira."
"What?"
"Come home."
The word home hurt her.
Because part of her still missed it.
But she folded her arms.
"No."
Karl stepped closer.
"Why?"
"You know why."
"Kavira."
"No."
Victor finally stood between them.
"Enough."
Karl looked at him.
Victor looked back.
Neither moved.
Victor spoke first.
"She made her choice."
Karl answered immediately.
"No."
Kavira groaned.
"Can someone please ask ME what I want?"
Both men answered together.
"No."
The entire office froze.
Kavira stared at them.
"You both are impossible."
An hour later.
After another argument.
Another shouting match.
And several threats exchanged between Victor and Karl.
Karl finally grabbed Kavira's hand.
"Karl!"
"We're leaving."
"No!"
"Yes."
"Karl Casanova!"
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"I hate you."
Karl smirked.
"I know."
Victor looked ready to throw something.
"Karl."
"Get out of my company."
Karl opened the door.
Then looked back.
"She's coming with me."
Victor pointed at the door.
"Leave before I change my mind."
Karl smiled.
"I was never asking permission."
And with that, he walked out.
Kavira still protesting the entire way.
While Victor stood in his office thinking only one thing—
"Why am I surrounded by psychopaths?"
And somehow...
He already knew tomorrow would be even worse.
