The restaurant still felt tense even after Kian had been thrown out.
Broken silence lingered between the tables.
People whispered quietly.
Some looked scared of Karl Casanova.
Others looked at Kavira with sympathy.
Kavira sat quietly now, fingers trembling slightly around the glass of water.
Her chest still felt tight.
Old memories had returned too suddenly.
Too harshly.
Then suddenly—
“Okay why does this restaurant look like someone died?”
A familiar voice.
Divyanka walked toward them wearing her doctor’s coat loosely over her shoulders.
She stopped immediately after seeing Kavira’s pale face.
“What happened?”
Aaron leaned back tiredly.
“Kian happened.”
Divyanka blinked.
“…The ex?”
Karl’s jaw tightened again instantly.
Divyanka looked at Kavira carefully.
“Oh no.”
She quickly sat beside her.
“Kavira?”
Kavira forced a small smile.
“I’m okay.”
Divyanka gave her a look.
“That sentence is illegal in front of doctors.”
One of the older aunties sitting nearby patted Kavira’s shoulder lovingly.
“Poor child got frightened,” the woman murmured softly.
Another auntie glared toward the restaurant entrance dramatically.
“These boys nowadays are shameless.”
Kavira almost smiled weakly.
The aunties had unofficially adopted her emotionally within ten minutes.
Divyanka gently touched Kavira’s hand.
“Did he say something to you?”
Kavira shook her head slightly.
“Nothing important.”
Karl looked at her quietly.
He knew she was lying.
But he didn’t expose her.
Divyanka sighed softly.
“You should go home and rest.”
Kavira nodded immediately.
“Yes please.”
Karl stood without another word.
“Come.”
The protective tone in his voice returned instantly.
Aaron also stood up.
“I’ll drop Divyanka.”
Divyanka looked at him suspiciously.
“Drop me?”
Aaron looked calm.
“Yes.”
“You came separately.”
“And now you’re leaving with me.”
Divyanka narrowed her eyes.
“Bossy.”
Aaron looked completely unbothered.
“You complain too much.”
Divyanka gasped dramatically.
“I save lives for a living.”
“And create noise pollution after work.”
Karl ignored them both and focused entirely on Kavira.
“Can you walk?”
She nodded softly.
But Karl still held her hand carefully while leading her outside.
Inside the Car
The city lights blurred outside the windows softly as the car moved through the streets of Germany.
Kavira sat quietly beside Karl.
Tired.
Emotionally drained.
The adrenaline had finally faded.
And exhaustion took over.
Within minutes—
her head slowly tilted toward the window.
Karl looked at her immediately.
Asleep.
Of course.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
Then sunlight from the evening sky slipped directly onto her face through the glass.
Kavira frowned in her sleep slightly.
Without a word, Karl reached upward and pulled down the sun visor carefully so the light wouldn’t hit her eyes.
Then he adjusted her seat gently.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Like even sleep deserved protection.
The driver secretly looked through the mirror once.
And immediately looked away again.
Because seeing Karl Casanova this soft felt illegal.
Kavira shifted slightly in her sleep until her head rested against Karl’s shoulder naturally.
Karl froze for half a second.
Then relaxed.
His arm moved around her carefully.
Protective instinct.
Automatic now.
Kavira mumbled sleepily,
“Don’t fight…”
Karl looked down at her.
Even asleep—
she worried about him.
His chest tightened painfully.
“I won’t,” he whispered quietly.
Lie.
But a soft one.
Meanwhile — Aaron & Divyanka
Aaron drove silently while Divyanka sat beside him eating fries she stole from his packet without permission.
“You know,” she said casually,
“you get scarier every day.”
Aaron kept his eyes on the road.
“And yet you keep talking to me.”
“That’s because someone has to humble you.”
Aaron almost smiled faintly.
Almost.
Divyanka looked outside quietly for a moment.
Then suddenly:
“Did Karl really break Kian’s wrist?”
Aaron answered calmly,
“Partially.”
“Partially??”
Aaron shrugged slightly.
“He controlled himself.”
Divyanka stared at him in horror.
“Your family is insane.”
Aaron glanced at her briefly.
“And you still stay.”
Divyanka looked away instantly.
“…Unfortunately.”
Aaron’s lips twitched slightly.
And Divyanka hated that her heart noticed.
Casanova Mansion
By the time Karl reached home, Kavira was still asleep against him.
The driver opened the car door quietly.
Karl carefully picked her up into his arms.
Kavira stirred weakly.
“We home…?”
“Hm.”
She buried her face against his neck sleepily.
No fear.
No hesitation.
Just trust.
And God—
Karl would destroy the world to keep that trust safe.
He carried her upstairs slowly.
When he placed her on the bed gently, Kavira suddenly caught his sleeve half-asleep.
“Karl…”
“Hm?”
Her eyes stayed closed.
“Thank you for coming in my life.”
Karl went completely still.
Kavira smiled faintly in her sleep.
Then whispered softly:
“You feel like home too.”
And just like that—
the most feared man in Germany forgot how to breathe for a second.
