CHAPTER TWENTY -FOUR : The Floor That Was Never Mine

It was a normal morning.

I was sitting in the kitchen, sipping water, lost in nothing important—when karl walked in holding my phone.

His expression was unreadable.

“Who is…Kian Sehgal ?” he asked.

I frowned. “Why are you asking?”

“Answer me.”

“He was my ex,” I said calmly. “I told you about him.”

Without another word, karl cut the call and blocked the number.

“Hey—what happened?” I asked. “Why did you do that?”

“Nothing,” he said flatly.

“Oh. Okay.” I hesitated. “Then… can we go to the hospital? I want to see Divyanka.”

“No.”

I blinked. “Why?”

“I’m busy today.”

I scoffed. “I hate you.”

He smiled.

“I hate you,” I repeated loudly. “What did you hear? I love you?”

“Your hate sounds a lot like love, darling.”

“Shut up.”

Just then, a maid rushed in, pale and shaking.

“S-sir… the door of that—”

Karl’s face changed.

“Is what?” he snapped. “Are you serious?”

Before anyone could answer, he was already running toward the top floor.

My heart started pounding.

It had been two months since our marriage, and I still hadn’t seen the entire mansion. The direction he ran in—

I had never been there.

“What happened?” I asked the maid, already moving.

No answer.

I followed them, my footsteps echoing, fear crawling up my spine.

Suddenly—

Karl grabbed my arm and slammed me gently but firmly against the wall.

His eyes were burning.

“Don’t you dare come behind me,” he said coldly. “Ever.”

I froze.

I had never seen this side of him—this wasn’t possessive or protective.

This was panic mixed with rage.

Before I could say anything, he let go and ran.

The maid stood there, silent.

Twenty minutes passed.

When karl finally returned, I was sitting in the living room.

The marble floor was pure white.

Too white to hide anything.

That’s when I saw it—

A drop of blood.

Right where his shoes had been.

My breath caught.

He noticed my gaze.

Said nothing.

Went upstairs.

Something big.

Something dangerous.

Something he was hiding from me.

And in that moment, a decision settled quietly inside me.

Tonight, when he sleeps—

I will find out what lies behind that forbidden floor.

Meanwhile — AT THE HOSPITAL ~

DIVYANKA sat on the bed, recovery almost complete, eyes determined.

“Aaron,” she said softly, “I need to ask you something.”

He looked up instantly. “Anything.”

“Arshia,” she continued. “She’s my friend. My family here. She can’t leave me—and I can’t be without her.”

Aaron didn’t interrupt.

“She’s a doctor too,” Divyanka added. “Please… give her a job here.”

Aaron thought for a moment.

Then nodded.

“I’ll arrange it,” he said. “She’ll be safe here.”

Divyanka smiled, relieved.

Unaware that outside those hospital walls—

Secrets were bleeding through marble floors,

and a mansion was hiding more than just rooms.
